Journalist Abu Tayyab arrested under DSA in Khulna

The journalist will be produced before the court on Wednesday morning

Police have arrested Abu Tayyab, a senior journalist and bureau chief of NTV in Khulna, under the Digital Security Act (DSA).

He was arrested from his residence in Khulna city’s Nurnagar area around 10:30pm on Tuesday.

Confirming the matter, Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Assistant Commissioner (Khulna Zone) Bayazit Ibn Akbar said journalist Abu Tayyab was arrested in a case filed under the Digital Security Act and brought to the police station.

Khulna City Corporation Mayor and metropolitan Awami League President Talukder Abdul Khaleq filed the case with Khulna Sadar police station around 4:30pm on Tuesday.

The journalist was kept in the custody of Khulna Sadar police station at night and will be produced before the court on Wednesday morning, the assistant commissioner added.
